Professor Dr. Mohammad Lokman Hossain has made significant contributions to higher education, scientific research, academic administration, and environmental sustainability in Bangladesh. His major contributions include:

Academic Leadership:

• Serving as the Pro Vice-Chancellor of Chandpur Science and Technology University since 23 July 2026, providing strategic leadership for academic excellence, institutional development, research promotion, and quality assurance.
• More than two decades of teaching experience at the university level, contributing to the development of skilled graduates and future researchers. 

Research and Innovation:

• Conducting internationally recognized research in Environmental Chemistry, Air Pollution, Atmospheric Aerosols, Organic Pollutants, Climate Change, Plastic Pollution, and Food Safety.
• Publishing 26 peer-reviewed research articles, authoring a Dictionary of Chemistry, and receiving over 1,260 citations, reflecting the global impact of his research.  

Environmental Protection:

• Leading research on air quality, atmospheric pollutants, and environmental health risks in major urban and industrial regions of Bangladesh.
• Providing scientific evidence to support environmental policy, pollution mitigation, and sustainable development initiatives. 

Research Supervision:

• Supervising numerous PhD, MPhil, MSc, and Professional Master's students and mentoring young researchers in environmental and applied chemistry.
• Successfully guiding postgraduate research on pollution monitoring, food chemistry, and environmental sustainability. 

 Research Funding:

• Securing multiple competitive research grants from Jagannath University and the Ministry of Science and Technology, supporting innovative research on environmental pollution and public health. 

Academic Administration:

• Serving in numerous administrative positions, including member of academic and executive committees, conference secretary, curriculum coordinator, and examiner, contributing to academic governance and institutional development. 

National Academic Service:

• Contributing to national higher education through his role as an Examiner, Question Setter, and Moderation Committee Member for the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC).
• Reviewing research proposals for the University Grants Commission (UGC) and serving as reviewer and editor for several international scientific journals.

• Establishing international research collaborations through conferences, publications, and joint research with scholars from China and other countries.
